Counseling Psychology Recognized Graduate Student Organization
The Graduate Student Organization at the University at Albany formally recognizes Recognized Graduate Student Organizations (RGSOs), and the Counseling Psychology Recognized Graduate Student Organization (CPRGSO) represents the interests of the students in the Division of Counseling Psychology. The CPRGSO Officers attend the GSO Assembly Meetings, represent the interests of our students at the Assembly Meetings, and bring back important information from the GSO, as well as the UAlbany and State University of New York (SUNY) systems, to share with the Counseling Psychology Students. We are allotted a certain amount of funding, which usually supports our Annual Diversity Conference. As an officer in the CPRGSO for a 4th year, I help orient new doctoral students to the CPRGSO and the larger GSO, and oversee the continuity of the organization. Recently, in consultation with our other officers, I wrote the new CPRGSO Constitution to maintain compliance with GSO operating procedures.
As the CPRGSO Treasurer, I complete and submit our annual recognition paperwork, including our yearly budget and request for funding. I help students process their reimbursements through the GSO. I attend some Assembly Meetings, a responsibility shared with the other officers, and I assist the other officers with questions and ensuring that we fulfill our responsibilities.
As the CPRGSO President, I oversaw the general functioning of the CPRGSO, and worked with the larger GSO to ensure that we were meeting our responsibilities. I submitted our annual recognition paperwork and budgets, as well as requests for funding. I attended Assembly Meetings, a responsibility shared with other officers.
As the primary CPRGSO Representative, I attended all GSO Assembly Meetings, communicated important GSO, UAlbany, and SUNY information to the students in our program, and was available to answer any GSO-related questions our students may have had.
